Public safety is one of the features that distinguishes Coral
Gables from other cities. Through the support of programs such as the Mobile
Patrol and the Neighborhood Crime Watch, the mission of public safety at the
City of Coral Gables is to promote a safer community through education of the
residential, business and youth sectors of the communities. The Neighborhood
Crime Watch Program acts as the “eyes and ears” of the Police
Department; the Business Crime Watch provides security
information specifically designed for the business; the Senior Citizens
Crime Watch provides presentations which focus on the needs and
concerns of the elderly residents, while the Youth Crime Watch
