Crime Watch Education

Crime Watch provides the following educational materials to further ensure the safety and welfare of the community:

Pamphlets and materials containing valuable safety tips are distributed to the public at every Crime Watch meeting. To receive information on preparations necessary in the event of a terrorist attack, Crime Watch recommends that residents visit www.ready.com.

The Crime Watch Gazette , a quarterly newsletter, provides the most recent information about safety issues and programs, as well as services and events sponsored by the organization.

Crime Watch produced a public service announcement in cooperation with Coral Gables TV in order to remind citizens to dial 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency.

During the holiday season, Crime Watch distributes brochures to businesses throughout the City. The brochures contain recommendations for additional precautions that can be taken by merchants and shoppers during the shopping season.

Graffiti

Crime Watch

What is Graffiti?

First of all, it is a crime! Graffiti is a deliberate act of destruction of private property. It costs property owners, residential as well as commercial, thousands of dollars each year. It creates a blight on communities across the United States.

What can be done about it?

The Crime Watch office is asking all residents for their help in eliminating graffiti from our community. If you see graffiti on your block or anywhere in Coral Gables, please call the Crime Watch office at 305 441-5760 and code enforcement will be notified immediately. Coral Gables has contracted with a company that is responsible for removing existing graffiti within 24 hours from private and city property. Graffiti on traffic signs, mail boxes, utility boxes and lightpoles will be reported to the county or appropriate business.
